IT Specialist cum Lab Tech - AMACC East Rizal
About the role
We are seeking an IT Specialist cum Lab Tech to join our team at AMA Computer College Inc. in Antipolo City, Rizal. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining our technological infrastructure and supporting our educational laboratory environments. As an IT Specialist cum Lab Tech, you will be responsible for ensuring that our network systems, computing infrastructure, and laboratory facilities operate at peak efficiency to support both academic and administrative functions. This role is essential to delivering a seamless technological experience for our students, faculty, and staff.
Key responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including servers, switches, routers, and connectivity devices
Manage and troubleshoot hardware and software issues across the college's computer systems and laboratory equipment
Provide technical support to end-users, including students, faculty, and staff, resolving IT-related issues in a timely manner
Monitor network performance and security, implementing preventative measures to protect systems from threats and vulnerabilities
Set up, maintain, and support laboratory equipment and software systems used for academic purposes
Perform regular system backups, updates, and patches to ensure data integrity and system security
Manage user accounts, access controls, and permissions across networked systems
Document technical procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference
Collaborate with other IT personnel and departments to implement technology solutions and improvements
Assist in planning and executing IT infrastructure upgrades and expansions
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional certification
Proven experience in networks and systems administration, preferably in an educational or institutional environment
Strong knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security principles
Proficiency with Windows and/or Linux server operating systems
Experience with hardware troubleshooting and maintenance of computer systems and peripherals
Familiarity with laboratory management systems and educational technology platforms
CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent certification is highly desirable
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Reliability and attention to detail in managing critical systems and documentation
Willingness to stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
