About the role

AMA Computer College Inc. is seeking an IT Specialist cum Lab Tech to join our team in Zamboanga City. This is a full-time position that combines technical expertise with hands-on laboratory support. As an IT Specialist cum Lab Tech, you will be responsible for maintaining our IT infrastructure, managing computer laboratory environments, and providing technical support to ensure seamless operations across our educational facility. This role is critical to supporting our mission of delivering quality technology education and maintaining a robust learning environment for our students and staff.

What you'll be doing

• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and networking equipment across the college campus

• Monitor and manage the IT laboratory environment, ensuring all systems are operational and up to date

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting to staff and students experiencing IT-related issues

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including system updates, patches, and antivirus management

• Manage user accounts, access permissions, and network security protocols

• Document technical issues, resolutions, and maintain accurate records of IT infrastructure

• Assist in planning and implementing IT infrastructure upgrades and improvements

• Support laboratory setup for classes and ensure equipment is functioning correctly for educational purposes

• Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve technology-related challenges

• Maintain inventory of IT equipment and consumables

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional certification

• Proven experience working as an IT Technician, Systems Administrator, or in a similar technical support role

• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and networking fundamentals

• Experience with network administration, including basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP

• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software problems, with excellent diagnostic skills

• Familiarity with laboratory management systems and computer lab environments

• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and IT security protocols

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse users

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

• Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail

• Preferred experience with virtualization technologies, cloud services, or educational technology platforms
