About the role
We are seeking an IT Specialist cum Lab Tech - SASN Iloilo to join our team at AMA Computer College Inc. in Iloilo City. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and supporting our IT infrastructure and laboratory operations. As an IT Specialist cum Lab Tech, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our computer laboratories, managing network systems, and providing technical support to staff and students. This position is essential to delivering quality educational experiences and maintaining the integrity of our technological environment.
Key responsibilities
Maintain and manage computer laboratory equipment, ensuring all systems are properly configured and functioning optimally
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and end-user devices
Monitor network systems and perform regular maintenance to ensure system reliability and security
Install, configure, and upgrade software and hardware components as required
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across laboratory systems
Respond promptly to technical issues and support requests from staff and students
Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures
Conduct regular backups and implement disaster recovery procedures
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security protocols and data protection measures
Support the setup and coordination of laboratory sessions and technical demonstrations
Liaise with vendors and external service providers for hardware and software support
Train staff and students on the proper use of laboratory equipment and IT systems
What we're looking for
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Proven experience in IT support, network administration, or laboratory management
Strong knowledge of computer systems, hardware, and software troubleshooting
Experience with network administration and management tools
Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux operating systems
Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data protection principles
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical users
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Positive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent qualifications are preferred
Experience working in an educational environment or laboratory setting is advantageous
