IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT)
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT), Position Description Number D2525P02 and D2525P02 and is part of the PA Deputy Chief of Staff G6, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement.
As an IT Specialist (CUSTSP), GS-2210-09, you will administer classified and unclassified local area network (LAN) clients, monitors ongoing operation of network systems to ensure hardware and software functions, and meets operational standards. Incumbent uses data, voice, and wireless principles to plan, test, and configure client systems, network, voice and personal wireless communications systems, to include specialized and unique platform IT systems. Provide real time monitoring of critical command and control mission related systems within Wing, GSU, and tenant organizations for information technology production control. Provide customer support, assistance, training, and orientation to Wing, GSU, and tenants. Adhere to management control plan requirements by conducting self-inspection and staff assistance visits. Maintain required information assurance certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M, Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002, Clinger Cohen Act of 1996. Perform other duties as assigned. As an IT Specialist (CUSTSP), GS-2210-11, you will manage the assigned IT/communications environment with privileged access at the network level for the Wing, Geographically Separated Units (GSU), and Tenants. Serve as a focal point for ensuring functionality and operability of the assigned IT/data systems/functions, voice and wireless systems to support mission requirements of Wing, Geographically Separated Units (GSU), and Tenants. Provide customer technical assistance and support for all users. Determine customer requirements and assists customers by recognizing and analyzing trends and providing instruction and orientation services. Conduct feasibility studies to identify and analyze system failures and analyzes data to determine if trends exist which forecast the need for future replacement or modification of system hardware and software. Coordinate frequency needs with command level spectrum management office to maintain current allocations and obtain new authorizations. Install, maintain, and repair hardware devices supporting a broad range of information and communications systems. Perform other duties as assigned.
