IT SPECIALIST (DATA MANAGEMENT)
About the Position: The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is transitioning to the Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) This position is located at HQ, Financial & Business OPS Dir, Data and AI Division in Alexandria, Virginia. The position may be eligible for situational telework as determined by the agency policy. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
Drafts data governance documents, including policies, standards, procedures, and guidance, and develops and recommends enterprise data standards.
Works with data stewards across divisions to apply governance standards, resolve data definition and quality issues, and support stewardship accountability.
Maintains the enterprise data dictionary and business metadata catalog, ensuring that the meaning, lineage, and ownership of agency data are accurately documented.
Supports the development and application of enterprise data quality requirements and the data classification framework, including sensitivity labeling and data-handling guidance, and assists in monitoring conformance with governance standards.
Manages the agency's official student records, including the processing and certification of student transcripts and the issuance of student diplomas, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and proper release.
Identifies data literacy and enablement needs within the data governance domain and supports efforts to address them.
