The IT Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company’s technology systems, hardware, and software used in daily operations. This role provides technical support to employees, ensures systems operate efficiently, and assists with managing the company’s network, equipment, and business applications that support rental operations, fleet management, and administrative functions. The IT Specialist plays a key role in maintaining reliable technology systems that enable smooth business operations across offices, yards, and field locations.
Essential Functions
- Provide technical support to employees for hardware, software, and system-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve computer, network, and system problems.
- Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Assist with maintaining company servers, networks, and cloud-based systems.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Support email systems, file sharing platforms, and internal business applications.
- Maintain and support network infrastructure including routers, switches, and wireless networks.
- Assist with setup and support of technology in offices, equipment yards, and remote locations.
- Monitor system performance and ensure systems remain operational.
- Provide support for company software such as accounting systems, rental management software, and fleet tracking systems.
- Assist with system updates, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Work with vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues.
- Follow company IT security policies and best practices.
- Assist with system backups, updates, and security monitoring.
- Help ensure systems remain protected from cybersecurity threats.
- Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, and support procedures.
- Track technical issues and resolutions through helpdesk or ticketing systems.
- Other job tasks and functions as assigned.
