IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK)

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA OC/DISA GLOBAL OPS COMMAND - OPERATIONS DIV (SCOTT AFB) (ORG RN32).

Provides technical guidance, interpretation, and implementation oversight of applicable information security policies, processes, and practices to ensure operability and security of networks and systems.

Supports decision-making through strategic planning and policy guidance.

Coordinates with other cyber and non-cyber stakeholders to integrate policy into operational and programmatic activities.

Executes large scale in scope project management, requiring technical expertise over a wide range of systems and applications.

Develops, interprets, plans, and applies policy, process, procedure, and strategy in the delivery of multi-disciplined IT networking services.
