IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK)

Designs and secures enterprise networks, assesses risks, and plans upgrades for a U.S. Navy IT infrastructure.
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. You will be responsible for daily operations of enterprise network, firewalls (ASA/FTD), VPNs with Cisco Secure Client, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and Wide Area Network (WAN) connections.
You will implement and manage network access control (NAC) using Cisco Identify Services Engine (ISE) to enforce security posture and C2C policies for all devices connecting to the network.
You will develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for the network and security architecture, including diagrams, configuration guides, operational procedures, and COMSEC handling.
You will monitor network performance, availability, and capacity using tools like Cisco Catalyst Center, or Secure Network Analytics to ensure reliability and proactively identify issues.
You will ensure cybersecurity policies are followed in accordance with DoW, DON, and NAVSEA, including Navy PKI and RDTandE firewall policies, as well as experience with Zero Trust security principles and implementation.
You will conduct network security evaluations, audits, and reviews; conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks and protection needs;
You will support IAVAs and patching of network systems.
You will assess new technologies to improve network operations and security of network, developing long-term plans for technology refresh and network upgrades.
