IT SPECIALIST (POLICY AND PLANNING)

About the Position: The incumbent will serve as an IT Specialist (Policy and Planning) at USSOUTHCOM-Communications Systems Directorate-Operations Division in Miami, FL.

Monitor the daily coordination, synchronization, and deconfliction of the Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN) operations, ensuring these activities directly support the CCMD's (combatant commands) military objectives.

Maintain communications battle rhythm events, detailed logs, and dynamic dashboards for real-time situational awareness.

Enforce strict compliance with all IT security standards.

Identify and mitigate risks that could impact immediate operational effectiveness, thereby ensuring the seamless integration of all warfighting functions.

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for future operations planning.

Collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams across the directorate and the command's headquarters to achieve operational objectives and ensure mission success.

Conduct research and analysis regarding IT policies and procedures to ensure missions align with operational objectives.

Supervise military and civilian personnel to include assigning work to ensure deadlines are met.

Develop performance standards and evaluate work performance of personnel.

Conduct hiring actions as required; recommends appointments, promotions, or reassignments to such positions.

Identify developmental and training needs of employees, and provide training accordingly.
