IT Specialist (Principal IT Solutions Engineer)

This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of the Chief Information Officer in Washington, D.C. This position is the agency's senior non-supervisory authority for enterprise build, integration, and operational engineering, responsible for how SBA's most complex network, systems, cloud, and platform solutions are engineered, integrated, automated, and sustained.

As an IT Specialist (Principal IT Solutions Engineer) at the GS- 2210-15, some of your typical work assignments may include: Develops new engineering approaches, standards, and methods for AI-enabled operations, multi-cloud automation, and zero-trust enforcement engineering that set precedent for SBA and peer agencies. Advises acquisition and program officials on technical requirements, Statements of Work, cost estimates, source-selection factors, and architecture-compliance reviews. Prepares and delivers briefings, white papers, and decision memoranda to senior executives and oversight bodies on engineering posture, modernization progress, operational risk, and investment outcomes.
