IT SPECIALIST (Senior Security Engineer)

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A), Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) - Security Management Branch. The primary purpose of this position is to serves as technical authority and senior IT and computer systems advisor and consultant and cyber security advisor. As a IT SPECIALIST (Senior Security Engineer), GS-2210-14, your typical work assignments may include: Serves as an IT Specialist who will apply security engineering industry best practices, methods, principles and techniques to current and future DHS Intelligence Enterprise (IE) Information Technology (IT) networks, systems and applications with knowledge in Zero Trust, Artificial Intelligence, and Cloud Security engineering. Serve as an advisor to the Cybersecurity leadership on security and risk-management support and recommendation to support mission and communicate security risk to relevant stakeholders. Ability to provide senior level presentations, briefs, and executive level reports. Provide/support of security requirements enforcement of multi-cloud environments to include but not limited to AWS, AZURE, Google, Oracle, etc. Provide Subject Matter Expertise in maturing the Cybersecurity Program Zero Trust Architecture, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Language (AI/ML), and Cloud Security Engineering posture. Assist with applying broad knowledge/experience for cybersecurity tools and platforms across cloud, endpoint, identity, and network security domains to support collaborative engagement with SOC, ICAM, and Network/cloud engineers. Collaborate with on-premises and cloud engineers to ensure cybersecurity is built into the networks and cloud applications and support the development/maturation of Security automation through Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) to build efficiencies in the cybersecurity testing procedures.
