This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Financial Integrity Products Division. As an IT Specialist (Technical Architect), you will define implementation patterns, lead technical coordination, and ensure Financial Integrity systems support secure, scalable, and compliant operations across federal agencies.

As an IT Specialist (Technical Architect), you will: Serve as a technical expert and authority for architecture standards, technical patterns, system integration models, and reference implementations for Fiscal Service. Advise executive leadership on critical aspects of the Fiscal Service architecture (strategic, security, mission/business, data/information, applications and/or infrastructure), standards, policies and best practices in data management to ensure efficient and accessible systems. Develop new theories on the optimal manner in which IT architecture, systems engineering, security, and integration are needed to design, govern, and implement complex enterprise technology solutions. Share theories and other developments with other government agencies for potential implementation. These theories will maximize performance of systems and interoperability of data. Work with senior executives throughout Fiscal Service to obtain buy-in for the theories and their implementation plans.

All newly appointed employees to the competitive (or excepted) service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Periodic reinvestigation is required no later than five years after selection and at least every succeeding five years. Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer. Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
