As part of a wider Trust, the school utilises technology to support teaching, learning, and operational excellence across multiple sites. This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on IT experience while supporting students and staff in a busy educational setting.

About the role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated IT Support Apprentice to join our Digital Team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop practical IT skills while working towards a Level 3 Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship.

Working across both North Walsham High School and Millfield Primary School, you will play a key role in supporting the Trust's IT infrastructure, maintaining devices and networks, resolving technical issues, and assisting with audio-visual services. You'll gain exposure to a broad range of technologies in a supportive environment, helping to ensure staff and students can make the most of digital resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues

  • Install, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, iPads, printers, and other IT equipment

  • Create and manage user accounts across Microsoft 365 and other key systems

  • Support the maintenance and security of the Trust's network infrastructure

  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventories and equipment records

  • Assist with cyber security activities and promote safe technology use in line with NCSC and DfE guidance

  • Set up, maintain, and operate audio-visual equipment for school events and presentations

  • Create and update IT documentation and contribute to the digital knowledge base

  • Support IT-related projects and technology improvements across the Trust

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver excellent IT services

Desirable skills:

  • Passion for technology and problem-solving

  • Good communication and customer service skills

  • Organised with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office applications

  • Interest in computer hardware, networking, and IT support

  • Positive, professional, and adaptable approach to learning

  • Interest in cyber security and emerging technologies

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject

  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)

  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm, Friday 8am to 3:30pm
