IT Support Assistant

The IT Support Assistant is a developmental and operational support position that performs structured, supervised Information Technology tasks such as equipment preparation, inventory, organization, recycling, basic workstation setup, and documented project assistance. The role is designed to provide useful department capacity and practical exposure to technology.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Unbox, inspect, clean, label, organize, store, and prepare computers, monitors, peripherals, phones, cables, adapters, and other technology equipment.
  • Prepare equipment for deployment, return, storage, recycling, trade-in, or disposal according to documented procedures.
  • Assist with basic workstation setup, including monitors, docks, keyboards, mice, power connections, cable management, and other non-privileged setup tasks under direction.
  • Organize equipment rooms, shelves, cables, supplies, spare devices, packaging materials, and recycling areas.
  • Assist with inventory audits, equipment counts, labeling projects, device refreshes, office moves, onboarding preparation, and other defined IT projects.

Qualifications

  • No formal information technology degree or certification is required.
  • High school education, technical coursework, work experience, internship experience, supported-employment experience, or other relevant preparation may be considered based on the assignment.
  • Previous experience with computers, inventory, equipment handling, customer service, or structured workplace tasks is helpful but not required.

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • $18.75 - $22.91 per hour, depending on education and experience
