About the Role
Brisbane Girls Grammar School is seeking an experienced IT Support and Audio Visual (AV) Specialist to join our IT Services and Operations team.
This is a diverse, hands-on technical role combining IT Service Desk support, specialist AV systems, across classroom and event technology. You will provide high-level technical support across the School’s IT environment, while ensuring the effective operation, maintenance and support of AV systems and equipment.
The role also provides the opportunity to support the delivery of the School’s performances, productions, presentations and events, making this much more than a conventional IT Service Desk position. You will work across a broad range of technologies and environments.
The position requires a willingness to work outside normal hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, where reasonably required to support School events.

About You
We are seeking an experienced IT and AV professional who combines strong technical capability with excellent communication, problem-solving and customer service skills.
You will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Audio Visual, or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with AV control systems such as AMX and Crestron
- Extensive practical experience with professional video production equipment and practices
- Strong knowledge of AV presentation and production equipment, including cameras, audio recorders, wireless microphones, video mixers and DMX lighting control systems
- Experience working with digital media file formats and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite
- An understanding of networking, data storage and the integration of AV systems with networked IT environments
- Demonstrated experience supporting live events, performances and productions
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to remain calm and make sound technical decisions under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
- A high level of initiative, attention to detail and commitment to quality service
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative IT team.
