Help local businesses stay connected, with variety, real ownership and a team that has your back
About us
CT Business Solutions is a Hamilton-based managed service provider. We look after the IT, phones and internet that local businesses rely on every day. We’re a close-knit team, we know our clients by name, and we take pride in fixing problems properly the first time.
The role
We’re looking for an IT Support Engineer who enjoys solving problems and helping people. No two days are the same. One day you might sort out a laptop issue over the phone, and the next you could be setting up a new VoIP phone system at a client’s office or tracking down a dropped internet connection.
You’ll work mainly from our Hamilton office, with regular site visits to clients around the region. Hours are Monday to Friday during business hours, so there’s no shift work and your weekends stay free. We’d love someone who can start soon, but we’ll wait for the right person.
What you’ll be doing
Resolving hardware, software and network issues for our business clients
Setting up, configuring and troubleshooting VoIP phones and systems
Diagnosing and fixing internet connectivity problems
Monitoring client systems to catch issues before they become problems
Working with the wider team on trickier technical challenges
Showing users better ways to work with their technology
Keeping clear notes so the whole team benefits from what you learn
What you’ll bring
Hands-on IT support experience, ideally at an MSP or in a similar client-facing role
Confidence troubleshooting hardware, software and networks
A good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and core IT infrastructure
Clear communication, plus the patience to explain tech in plain English
The ability to work on your own and as part of a team
NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa, and a full NZ driver licence
Bonus points for
Experience with VoIP systems and protocols (SIP, RTP, PBX)
Familiarity with RMM and PSA tools
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA or networking
Don’t tick every box? Apply anyway. If you have solid IT support experience and you’re keen to grow your VoIP skills, we want to hear from you. We’ll help you build the rest.
What’s in it for you
Salary range, $30 to $40 per hour, depending on experience
Company vehicle to use for site visits
Varied work across a range of clients and technologies
A supportive team where your ideas are heard
Our clients stay with us because we’re friendly, responsive and we follow through. You’ll be the person our clients call when something isn’t working. That could mean a quick fix over the phone, a new phone system rollout at their office, or getting a business back online after an outage.
