IT Support Engineer

Skills Group is looking for an enthusiastic IT Support Engineer to join our IT Services team.

This permanent full-time role is based at our Christchurch campus and provides first-line technical support across our two Christchurch campuses, including remote support to the other locations. You'll troubleshoot technical issues, configure devices, support new starters, and help ensure our staff and learners have the technology they need to succeed. No two days are the same, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and delivering exceptional customer service.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide first-line technical support to staff and learners, both onsite and remotely

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, Microsoft 365, Windows, and network-related issues

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain laptops, devices, and IT equipment

  • Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, and user account administration

  • Support classroom technology and IT services across our Auckland campuses

  • Maintain accurate documentation, asset records, and service desk tickets

What you'll bring:

  • A qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience

  • Previous experience in an IT Support, Service Desk, Helpdesk, or Technical Support role

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with a user-focused approach

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • A full, clean New Zealand Driver Licence and the ability to travel between our Auckland campuses
