IT Support & Field Service Technician
NewBe an early applicantDocument Management Tasmania is looking for an experienced IT Support & Field Service Technician to join our Hobart-based technical team.
This is not a traditional help desk position.
It's a varied, hands-on role combining approximately 70% IT support with 30% on-site client and technical field work. You'll work across customer IT environments, network-connected technology, document and print systems and associated hardware.
We're particularly interested in speaking with experienced IT professionals in Victoria who are either considering a sea change/moving back home to Tasmania, which enjoy getting out from behind the desk, working directly with customers and solving problems in the real world.
What you'll be doing
IT help desk, desktop and user support
Installing, configuring and supporting equipment and embedded software printing solutions.
Diagnosing hardware, software and connectivity issues
Learning to diagnose and repair Fujifilm print and multifunction equipment
Supporting network-connected print and document technology
Remote troubleshooting and problem resolution
Attending customer sites
Working alongside our experienced service technical team
What we're looking for
Ideally, you'll bring 5–10 years' experience in IT help desk, desktop support, managed IT services or field-based technical support.
We're looking for someone who is technically capable, naturally curious and a strong problem solver. You'll be confident dealing directly with customers, comfortable working independently and able to explain technical issues in plain English.
Mechanical aptitude is a significant advantage.
Previous experience servicing printers or multifunction devices would be advantageous, but it is not essential.
If you're someone who enjoys understanding how things work, diagnosing faults, working with your hands and isn't intimidated by taking equipment apart and putting it back together, we'd like to hear from you.
We shall provide the specialist Fujifilm product training required.
Why DMTas?
Document Management Tasmania has been operating in Tasmania for 40 years, with operations spanning Fujifilm multifunction technology, digital print and signage, and secure digitisation and records management.
You'll join an established local team with the opportunity to develop your career across both IT and sophisticated print and document technology.
For an experienced Victorian IT professional considering a move to Tasmania, this could also be an opportunity to combine a long-term technical career with a change of lifestyle.
If you're an experienced IT professional who enjoys technology, customers and solving problems — and you'd like considerably more variety than sitting behind a help desk all day — we'd like to hear from you. Email your resume to hr@dmtas.com.au
Remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate, relocation assistance will also be considered.
