IT Support Officer


The Opportunity

Our client is a successful national professional services organisation that continues to expand its internal technology capabilities. With a strong focus on delivering an efficient and reliable technology experience, the business is looking to strengthen its IT function with an experienced support professional.
This is a varied position for someone who enjoys being more than a traditional helpdesk resource. You will work closely with the wider business, take ownership of technical issues and assist with the ongoing development of the organisation's technology environment.

The Role

This position will give you exposure to a broad range of responsibilities across user support, systems, applications and service improvement.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

• Taking ownership of incoming technology requests and ensuring users receive timely and effective outcomes
• Investigating incidents and technical problems across workplace systems and end-user environments
• Assisting employees with day-to-day technology challenges and providing practical solutions
• Administering user access and maintaining appropriate security and permissions across core systems
• Supporting the implementation and maintenance of business applications and cloud services
• Monitoring the performance and availability of key workplace technologies
• Assisting with software updates, system changes and technology releases
• Maintaining accurate IT records, documentation and asset information
• Working alongside infrastructure and technology partners on more complex technical matters
• Helping coordinate technology changes across the business and ensuring users are appropriately supported
• Identifying recurring issues and recommending improvements to reduce future support requirements
• Contributing to the development of IT processes, procedures and internal knowledge resources
• Assisting with technology projects, system enhancements and business initiatives as required
• Supporting the organisation as it adopts new digital tools and more efficient ways of working
• Building trusted relationships with employees and becoming a reliable point of contact for technology-related matters

About You

This opportunity would suit an IT professional who is confident working independently, enjoys variety and takes pride in providing a high level of service.

You will ideally bring:

• Several years' experience in a hands-on IT support environment
• Strong experience troubleshooting workplace technology and business applications
• A solid understanding of modern cloud and SaaS environments
• Experience managing user access, permissions and technology services
• The ability to investigate problems logically and work through issues to a resolution
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working with people across different areas of a business
• A customer-first approach with a focus on understanding the underlying issue rather than simply resolving the immediate request
• The ability to prioritise workloads and remain organised in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A high level of initiative and the confidence to work with minimal supervision
• A continuous improvement mindset and an interest in finding better ways of delivering IT services
• A willingness to learn new platforms and technologies as the environment evolves
• Strong attention to detail and a genuine sense of ownership
