The mission of an IT technician is to provide technical support and ensure the smooth operation of the
company’s computer systems, networks and software. Their primary goal is to address and resolve IT
related issues efficiently, minimize downtown and ensure that end-users have the necessary resources
to perform their work effectively.
Mission
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software and network problems encountered by
users. They provide timely assistance guidance and resolutions to ensure minimal disruption
to workflow.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, software installations and
hardware upgrades.
• Manage and maintain the organisations network infrastructure. This includes setting up and
configuring network devices, managing users access and permission and ensuring network
security measures are in place to protect against unauthorized access and potential threats.
• Implement and maintain data backup solutions to protect critical business information.
• Provide training and guidance to end-users on utilizing various hardware, software and
applications effectively.
• Manage the organisations IT assets including hardware software licenses and inventory.
• Contribute to maintaining a secure IT environment by implementing security measures such
as antivirus software, firewalls and access controls.
