IT Support Officer (Web)

Salary: RM 3,100 – RM 4,300 per month

Job Summary

The IT Support Officer (Web) is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance and improvement of the organisation’s websites and web-based systems. The role involves assisting in coding, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring the smooth operation and deployment of web applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement procedures for ongoing website maintenance, updates and enhancements.

• Assist the Senior Developer in software design, development, and coding activities.

• Develop, test, and maintain web application code to ensure functionality and performance.

• Support website troubleshooting, debugging, and technical issue resolution.

• Maintain and update existing websites, including content updates and feature improvements.

• Assist with deployment and management of websites on hosting environments.

• Ensure websites are secure, functional, and optimized for performance.

• Document development processes and maintain technical documentation.

• Perform other IT or web-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computing or a related field.

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in web development or web support.

• Business proficiency in the Chinese language is required, as this role involves frequent communication with our regional clients.

• Experience with PHP frameworks, particularly Laravel.

• Experience in WordPress development, including theme customization and maintenance.

• Familiarity with front-end web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and frameworks such as Vue.js.

• Experience with database development using MySQL and phpMyAdmin.

• Familiarity with web hosting environments, including cPanel, FTP (e.g., FileZilla) and shared hosting deployment.

• Basic understanding of website security, debugging, and performance optimization.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
