The Role:
We are seeking a customer-focused and technically skilled IT Support Specialist to join TRENDS' ICT team, providing responsive first and second-level support to end-users across the business.
Reporting to the Service Delivery Lead, the IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to end-users and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and services. The role covers troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and supporting identity, access and device management, all delivered with a strong focus on customer service.
What you’ll be doing:
Providing first- and second-level technical support to employees via phone, email, and in person.
Coordinating the IT Service Desk queue, logging, tracking, and escalating tickets as required.
Troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues in line with SLAs.
Setting up, configuring, and maintaining user devices, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
Administering Active Directory and Entra, including account additions, changes, and removals.
Supporting network connectivity, VPN configuration, and remote access for users.
Assisting with IT security measures, user access management, and safe computing practices.
Maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to a centralised knowledge base.
Participating in an on-call roster to provide after-hours IT support as required.
Monitoring system performance and supporting IT projects such as upgrades and migrations.
What you will bring to the table:
Essential Requirements:
At least 2 years’ experience administering Windows 11 environments.
Working knowledge of Entra ID and Active Directory
Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.
Clean Class 1 NZ Drivers Licence
Understanding of basic networking concepts, basic networking troubleshooting skills
Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines.
Excellent query resolution skills, confident supporting users by phone, in person, email, and remote support tools
Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to a range of users.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
A curious, problem-solving mindset, always looking to identify the true source of an issue.
Ability to prioritise and triage competing support requests independently
A positive, can-do attitude when faced with challenges.
Desirable Requirements:
A recognised tertiary-level IT qualification.
Experience with Intune, Autopilot and Entra Security
Working knowledge of the Aruba networking stack
Experience working across multiple sites or with remote/distributed teams.
Experience with hardware asset management/lifecycle processes.
Exposure to Intune or another MDM/endpoint management platform.
