IT Support Technician (Fixed Term)
About the role
Suzuki New Zealand is looking for a practical, customer-focused IT Support Technician to join our team on an eighteen (18) month fixed-term basis. This role has been established to provide additional support during an ERP implementation.
You will be the first point of contact for day-to-day IT support, helping staff resolve technology issues quickly and professionally. This is a varied, hands-on role covering user support, device set up, Microsoft 365, AS400, access administration, troubleshooting, documentation, and support for current IT project activity.
Key responsibilities
Responding to IT support requests through our ticketing process, phone, email, remote support tools, and in person.
Troubleshooting hardware, software, printer, mobile device, network, and Microsoft 365 issues.
Setting up equipment and user accounts for new starters and supporting access changes for existing staff.
Maintaining accurate support notes, asset records, and practical user documentation.
Escalating issues where needed and following through to ensure a good outcome for users.
Supporting time-limited IT project work during the fixed-term period.
About you
Experience in IT support, helpdesk, service desk, desktop support, or a similar technical role.
Confidence supporting Microsoft 365, Windows, hardware, printers, and mobile devices.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users.
A calm, organised, service-focused approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Awareness of confidentiality, privacy, cyber security, and appropriate user access controls.
A relevant IT qualification or certification would be helpful but is not essential where equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
