IT Support Technician I
Who we are:
Electra is reinventing ironmaking from the ground up with a breakthrough electrochemical technology that produces high-purity, clean iron and critical co-minerals. With two operating pilots in Boulder and a new demonstration facility underway in Jefferson County, we’re on track to reach commercial scale by the end of the decade. Backed by over $300 million and strategic partnerships with global leaders across mining, steel, and big tech, momentum is on our side. Recognized by Fast Company as a Most Innovative Company and a Next Big Thing in Tech, and named one of TIME’s 100 Climate Leaders, we’re building a company shaping the future of industry. If you’re looking to make an impact and join a team that’s driven, focused, and scaling, we want to hear from you.
What you will do:
This is a launchpad role. You'll start with foundational IT work, but from day one you'll have a front-row seat to enterprise Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, and engineering software environments — and a manager whose job is to help you grow into the next level.
Responsibilities include:

- Triage, resolve, and document Tier 1 issues: account access, password resets, MFA/Authenticator issues, printer setup, peripheral troubleshooting, basic Microsoft 365 questions
- Assist with new-hire onboarding and offboarding: laptop imaging, account creation, license assignment, hardware handoff, and desk setup
- Support hardware lifecycle tasks — receiving, inventorying, and preparing Lenovo laptops and other IT equipment
- Escalate more complex issues to senior technicians and engineers with clear, well-documented notes
- Keep our knowledge base and end-user guides current as you learn
- There is the possibility for a compensated on-call rotation with this position to support our industrial
What we need you to bring to the team:

- 1+ years of work experience
- A genuine interest in technology and a desire to build a career in Information Technology
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, patient, and approachable manner
- A customer-focused mindset with a willingness to learn, ask questions, receive feedback, and continuously develop new skills
- Basic familiarity with Windows 10/11 and general familiarity with Microsoft 365 apps (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
- Ability to follow established processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures while completing routine assignments
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple routine tasks, stay organized, and prioritize work with guidance from team members
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a team environment while also completing assigned tasks independently
- Ability to work on-site in Boulder and Broomfield Colorado, and occasionally lift/move IT hardware such as desktops, monitors, and boxes of supplies
- Ability to occasionally lift and move computers, monitors, printers, and other IT equipment (up to 40 pounds)
What we want you to bring to the team:
- 2 + years previous Help Desk, desktop support, retail technology, or customer service experience
- Exposure to macOS in a business or educational environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Active Directory, or endpoint management tools
- Experience using an IT ticketing system such as NinjaOne, ServiceNow, Freshservice, Jira, or similar platforms
- CompTIA A+, Microsoft MS-900, Google IT Support Certificate, or other entry-level technical certification (completed or in progress)
- Exposure to basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or similar) with an interest in expanding technical skills
Compensation:
- The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $21.50 - $23.00 per hour and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. Compensation will vary based on experience and qualifications, with offers determined by skills, experience, and overall alignment with the role.
