IT System Administrator
Position Summary
The IT System Administrator is responsible for supporting the organization's information technology infrastructure, including end-user desktop systems, Windows and Linux servers, and the Global Shop ERP system. This position provides hands-on technical support, system administration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and user assistance to ensure reliable and secure operation of IT systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Desktop Support
- Provide Tier 1–3 technical support for desktop and laptop computers.
- Troubleshoot Windows operating system, hardware, software, printing, networking, and peripheral issues.
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade desktop hardware and software.
- Support Microsoft Office and other business applications.
- Configure and troubleshoot user accounts, permissions, printers, mapped drives, and network resources.
- Deploy and maintain Windows workstations using established IT procedures.
- Assist users with technical issues both remotely and in person.
- Document support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
- Assist with Windows updates, patches, software deployments, and endpoint security requirements.
Windows Server Administration
- Assist with administration and maintenance of Windows Server systems.
- Monitor server performance, availability, storage, and system health.
- Troubleshoot Windows Server operating system and application issues.
- Support Microsoft Active Directory, including users, computers, groups, and organizational units.
- Assist with Group Policy administration and troubleshooting.
- Support DNS, DHCP, file services, print services, and other Windows-based infrastructure.
- Perform server patching, software updates, and routine maintenance.
- Assist with backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery procedures.
- Maintain accurate system documentation and configuration records.
Linux Server Support
- Assist with administration and maintenance of Linux servers.
- Perform basic Linux system troubleshooting and configuration.
- Monitor system health, disk space, services, and system logs.
- Install and maintain Linux packages and applications as required.
- Assist with user accounts, permissions, services, networking, and security configuration.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and application issues on Linux systems.
- Work with senior IT personnel or vendors on complex Linux issues.
Global Shop Administrator
- Serve as the primary IT administrator and technical support resource for the Global Shop ERP system.
- Manage Global Shop user accounts, permissions, and system access.
- Assist users with Global Shop-related technical issues.
- Maintain system configuration and coordinate application changes.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, application, database, and workstation issues related to Global Shop.
- Coordinate with Global Shop support and vendors when necessary.
- Assist with system updates, upgrades, testing, and implementation of new functionality.
- Maintain documentation for Global Shop configuration and administrative procedures.
- Work with business departments to identify and resolve ERP-related technical issues.
- Assist with data integrity, system availability, and appropriate access controls.
