IT System Engineer

Salary: RM 2,500 – RM 3,500 per month

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT System Engineer to join our thriving team at SC Systems Sdn Bhd. As an IT System Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimising our organisation's IT infrastructure and systems to ensure seamless operations. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

What you'll be doing

• 1️⃣ IT Infrastructure Implementation & Deployment

  • Assist in the installation, configuration and deployment of IT infrastructure solutions such as servers, storage, networks and virtualization.

  • Gain hands-on experience with:

    • Windows Server / Linux Server

    • Microsoft 365 / Azure AD

    • VMware / Hyper-V

    • Backup & Disaster Recovery solutions

    • Firewall & Endpoint Security solutions such as Sophos and Fortinet

  • Assist with system upgrades, patching, migration and implementation projects.

  2️⃣ System Monitoring & Maintenance

  • Monitor servers, network devices and security systems.

  • Perform routine system health checks and preventive maintenance.

  • Assist in troubleshooting system, network and performance issues.

  • Support the team in maintaining system availability, reliability and security.

  3️⃣ Cybersecurity Support

  • Assist in implementing basic cybersecurity best practices.

  • Support endpoint protection, firewall, VPN and user access management.

  • Assist in responding to security alerts and incidents.

  • Learn and support vulnerability scanning and remediation activities.

  4️⃣ Technical Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, network and system-related issues.

  • Assist in handling Level 2 technical issues escalated by the helpdesk team.

  • Troubleshoot problems under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Document technical issues, solutions and troubleshooting procedures.

  5️⃣ IT Project Support

  • Assist senior engineers with IT infrastructure and implementation projects.

  • Participate in site surveys and technical assessments.

  • Assist with solution preparation, system sizing and technical documentation.

  • Support project implementation and ensure tasks are completed according to project requirements and timelines.

  6️⃣ Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain and update IT system documentation, network diagrams and configuration records.

  • Prepare service reports, implementation reports and other technical documents.

  • Assist in updating SOPs and internal knowledge bases.

  7️⃣ Vendor & Customer Coordination

  • Communicate with vendors for technical support, warranty, RMA and product-related enquiries.

  • Assist senior engineers in communicating technical issues and solutions to customers.

  • Participate in customer site visits and technical discussions when required.

  • Provide basic user guidance and knowledge sharing when required.

What we're looking for

• Strong knowledge in Windows Server, Active Directory, Networking (TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN)

• Experience in firewall configuration (Sophos/Fortigate preferred)

• Backup solutions (Veeam, Acronis, etc.)

• Basic cloud knowledge (Azure, AWS, Alibaba Cloud is a plus)

• Good troubleshooting & analytical skills

• Customer-facing communication skills
