Job Summary
We are continuing to build our internal IT team and are looking for an IT Systems Administrator – Business Systems & Automation who can help us improve how technology supports the business. This role combines a solid IT systems foundation with a growing focus on business applications, workflow automation, integrations, reporting, data, and AI-enabled productivity. You will work closely with business teams to understand how work gets done, identify opportunities to simplify or automate processes, and build practical technology solutions using tools such as Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, Teams, Power BI, and other business applications. You do not need to be an expert in every technology listed below. We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, demonstrated experience in business systems or automation, and a track record of learning new technologies and turning business problems into practical solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities Business Systems & Automation
- Build and support solutions using Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint, Teams, Forms, and other Microsoft 365 tools.
- Partner with business teams to understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities for process improvement or automation.
- Translate business requirements into practical technology solutions.
- Support and improve business applications and workflows across departments.
- Develop and maintain integrations between business systems using APIs, connectors, low-code tools, or other integration technologies.
- Build toward supporting Power BI, SQL, Microsoft Fabric, and other reporting/data solutions.
- Support AI and Microsoft Copilot enablement efforts, including identifying practical business use cases.
- Assist with process analysis and re-engineering efforts to reduce manual work and improve consistency.
- Document applications, workflows, integrations, processes, and support procedures.
- Support user adoption through training, documentation, and change management.
IT Systems Administration
As part of a small internal IT team, this role will also participate in broader IT operations and support as needed.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications and services, including SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online, and OneDrive.
- Assist with user onboarding/offboarding, access management, and general systems administration.
- Troubleshoot business applications, Microsoft 365, Windows, and end-user technology issues.
- Work with the internal IT team and MSP to resolve issues and coordinate technical work.
- Participate in IT projects, including requirements gathering, testing, implementation, documentation, and user adoption.
- Coordinate with software vendors and implementation partners.
- Identify recurring support issues and recommend opportunities for process or technology improvement.
Minimum Requirements Education & Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Systems, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, business applications, automation, business analysis, or a related technology role.
- Experience working directly with business users to understand and solve technology or process problems.
- Microsoft or other relevant certifications are a plus.
Required Technical Foundation
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365.
- Experience with SharePoint, Teams, or other Microsoft collaboration tools.
- General understanding of user access, permissions, identity, and security concepts.
- Windows and end-user troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot applications and determine when issues require escalation.
- Comfort learning new applications, platforms, and technologies.
Business Systems & Automation
Experience with several of the following is strongly preferred; deep expertise in every area is not required:
- Power Automate
- Power Apps
- SharePoint Online
- Microsoft Teams and Forms
- Power BI
- SQL or relational data concepts
- Microsoft Fabric or other data/reporting platforms
- API integrations and connectors
- Dynamics 365, ERP, field service, or other business applications
- Low-code application development
- Workflow and approval automation
- AI, Microsoft Copilot, or Copilot Studio
- Requirements gathering and business process analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated curiosity and a track record of teaching yourself new tools.
- Ability to understand a business process before recommending technology.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Experience documenting processes, systems, and solutions.
- Experience supporting a multi-site or distributed organization.
- Experience working with vendors or implementation partners.
- Experience supporting ERP, operational, financial, or field-service systems is a plus.
- Experience with change management, training, or technology adoption is a plus.
- Bilingual is a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Occasional travel to company office locations is required.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
