IT Systems Administrator
Summary
Manages on-prem and cloud infrastructure, virtualization, backups, and network security for clients, ensuring uptime, compliance, and incident response.
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate or equivalent to NQF4.
- 5 years of experience in an IT environment of which a minimum of 3 years as a System Administrator.
- MCSA and CCNA certification.
- VMWARE and VEEAM certification as well.
- Extensive server, virtualisation, backups and network experience.
- Valid RSA Driver's License with own transport.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and optimise our on-premises servers, storage, and network infrastructure so that everything stays available, fast and aligned with business requirements.
- Manage network components (Firewalls, switches, routers and VPNs) and cloud resources a strong focus on security and compliance.
- Run proactive patch management, updates, and troubleshooting to prevent issues before they impact the business.
- Own backup, disaster recovery, and restore processes -including regular testing, to protect critical data and meet business opportunity and regulatory requirements.
- Apply cybersecurity controls, assist with vulnerability assessments, and respond to incidents in line with our established procedures and timelines.
- Act as the key escalation point above Tier 1 Support for complex infrastructure issues and manage secure user access, account provisioning, and onboarding/offboarding processes.
