Job Summary:

The Information Technology (“IT”) Systems Administrator at Ocean State Job Lot ("OSJL" and "Company") is responsible for the administration and maintenance of systems infrastructure across the Company’s retail stores, corporate offices, distribution centers, and field environments. A critical part of the IT service delivery operation, this role works with internal stakeholders on system infrastructure provisions and configuration projects, and collaborates with other IT teams to deliver the systems infrastructure that supports business application delivery and data analytics platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provision and maintain the server and storage infrastructure, including on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Leverage directory and endpoint management utilities to support centralized user identity and access accounts and devices.
  • Ensure server and client operating systems are updated with security and supportability patches.
  • Resolve escalated systems infrastructure technology incidents.
  • Fulfill configuration requests related to complex or high-risk systems infrastructure.
  • Ensure all infrastructure compute services and data storage environments are protected with appropriate backup, Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) services.
  • Utilize knowledge and expertise of complex systems technology to support IT Systems and Networking teams.
  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of systems management; seek out opportunities to leverage system infrastructure best practices.
  • Proactively maintain critical data center hardware components, including HVAC and major infrastructure hardware platforms.
  • Configure system health monitoring tools and respond to alerts when appropriate.
  • Utilize vendor partner services as necessary for specialized incident or configuration delivery.
  • Provide user-facing infrastructure software platforms, such as directory and identity systems, print services, communication and collaboration tools, and file storage systems, with technical support.
  • Develop and manage procedures for IT Systems Infrastructure components for use by IT Systems teams and IT Service Desk associates.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records in the Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) system for incident, request, and maintenance transactions.
  • Monitor service delivery dashboards on a daily basis to ensure compliance with SLAs and SOPs that affect the service experience for end users.

Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of experience working on systems infrastructure in a mid-size or large IT organization is required.
  • Experience with building and managing server resources in cloud environments (GCP/AWS) is required.
  • Experience with centralized enterprise storage in both on-premise and cloud environments is required.
  • Experience with physical server and virtualization hardware platforms is required.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server OS and core Windows domain services (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO) is required.
  • Mastery of IT systems fundamentals and experience applying them in varied troubleshooting scenarios is required.
  • Experience working in on-premise data center environments is preferred.
  • Experience with backup and recovery technologies in server and storage environments is required.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANS, ACLs and other networking protocols used in enterprise environments is required.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (“ITIL”) service delivery standards is preferred.
  • Experience provisioning end user devices with enterprise utilities is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace is required.
  • Experience with endpoint management tools across multiple operating systems including but not limited to Windows, Chrome, Android, and Mac is required.
  • Experience delivering centralized print services and hardware is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Minimal travel throughout OSJL store and office locations in various states. Some work in a remote environment.

Work Environment:

  • Works primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety and health hazard potential.
  • Hybrid work option: Some work may be completed outside of the Company locations, with at least three (3) days a week in the Corporate Office. The role is responsible for setting up a professional and ergonomically safe work environment and to be available during working hours. Hybrid work options are not guaranteed and are subject to change at any time based upon Company policy, associate performance and business needs.

  • Physical requirements of heavy lifting (up to 75lbs) and being on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Travel is required to corporate locations as well as stores on occasion - up to 20% - depending on the needs of the business.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to outside weather conditions and/or moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, or electrical components. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Hours - Mon - Fri 8:30am - 5:00pm

The annual salary range for this role is $70,000 - 80,000
