We are seeking an experienced and motivated IT Systems Engineer to join our Information Technology team. About the Role
As our IT Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining the technology systems that underpin our manufacturing and business operations. Reporting to the Site Lead – Information Systems, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day IT support, monitoring and maintaining infrastructure, administering business systems, and assisting with technology improvement projects across the site.
This is a varied role that combines technical problem-solving with customer service, systems administration, infrastructure support, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with operational teams, management, and external service providers to ensure our IT environment remains secure, reliable, and fit for purpose.
Hours of work:
This is a full-time position working: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
While standard hours apply, some flexibility may be required from time to time to support planned maintenance activities, system upgrades, project work, or operational requirements. The successful candidate will be adaptable and willing to assist outside normal hours on occasion when critical business systems require support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first-level IT support and troubleshooting assistance to site users.
Monitor and maintain servers, networks, and critical business systems to ensure reliability and performance.
Install, configure, and support hardware, software, and operating systems.
Assist with user account administration, security profiles, and access management.
Support disaster recovery planning, system backups, and cybersecurity initiatives.
Monitor network infrastructure, server performance, and software deployments.
Support manufacturing information systems and business applications.
Document IT processes and maintain system documentation.
Work with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for technology improvements.
Liaise with vendors and service providers to support system upgrades and issue resolution.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance business performance and user experience.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
A tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related technical field.
At least three years' experience working in an IT support or systems administration environment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Experience supporting Microsoft server and desktop environments.
Sound knowledge of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and related infrastructure.
Experience installing and maintaining hardware and software systems.
SQL administration or development experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service focus.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a wide range of people across the business.
A proactive approach to learning, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
Desirable Experience
Software development experience.
Experience managing Microsoft IIS environments.
Exposure to manufacturing systems or industrial environments.
Experience supporting ERP / Manufacturing systems.
