PING, Inc. is seeking an Information Technology Systems Engineer II that will serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert supporting enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This role combines traditional systems engineering with modern platform engineering capabilities, including infrastructure design, automation, and cloud integration. This position requires the candidate to reside in the Phoenix Metro Area, relocation assistance will be provided.

DUTIES:
• Design, deploy, implement, and maintain enterprise systems including servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and cloud infrastructure.
• Participate in evaluation, selection, security analysis, installation, and enhancement of IT systems, hardware, and software.
• Manage and optimize network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, VPNs, and hybrid connectivity solutions.
• Administer identity and access management systems including directory services, authentication protocols, and single sign-on (SSO).
• Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, logging, and reporting processes to ensure system health and availability.
• Create and maintain system documentation including installation procedures, support documentation, and operational runbooks.
• Develop automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code solutions to streamline provisioning and operational efficiency.
• Lead root cause analysis for incidents and implement corrective and preventative solutions.
• Support cloud migration initiatives, including re-platforming and hybrid infrastructure integration.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, system backup strategies, testing, and documentation.
• Serve as a project team member or lead on infrastructure initiatives such as system consolidation, centralization, and acquisitions.
• Provide advanced and overflow technical support to IT Support teams and business users.
• Coordinate vendor support, procurement, and contract labor as needed.
• Mentor junior team members and review work of IT Systems Specialists.
• Monitor system utilization and optimize performance and cost efficiency across environments.
• Use approved AI tools to streamline routine tasks, analyze information, improve work quality, and support more efficient execution of daily responsibilities.
• Participate in on-call support rotation for critical business systems.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology, Computing Engineering, or related discipline from a properly accredited university, plus a minimum 4 years’ experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced industry certifications a plus (Microsoft, Cisco, Storage, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
• Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure including compute, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms and hybrid environments (vendor-agnostic approach preferred).
• Proficiency in scripting and automation; experience with infrastructure-as-code tools is preferred.
• Advanced understanding of network infrastructure and security principles, identity and access management, and monitoring and system performance tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
• Experience supporting Microsoft-based enterprise technologies (e.g., Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure) preferred.
