Requirements:
  • Level 3 qualification or above in IT, Computing, Networking, or a related discipline
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Server+, AZ-800, or similar, or a willingness to work towards achieving this qualification
  • Experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, server support, or a similar role
  • Good knowledge of Windows Server and Microsoft technologies
  • Understanding of networking, security, backups, and system monitoring
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimise server hardware, software, operating systems, and IT infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot server and infrastructure issues, analyse system logs, and identify root causes
  • Monitor system performance and proactively resolve potential issues
  • Maintain security through updates, patches, backups, and access controls
  • Support the reliability, availability, and recovery of critical IT systems
  • Work with the wider IT team to maintain secure, up-to-date systems
  • Support infrastructure upgrades, projects, and new technologies
  • Maintain technical documentation and system records

We are Wiltshire College & University Centre, based at our Trowbridge Campus with up to 2 days remote home working available. We offer a permanent, full-time role of 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, with a salary of £39,258 per year.
