The role

The IT Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users as well as supporting the efficient and effective operation of technology systems within the domain. This role focuses on providing Level 1 and 2 support and provides a moderate level of technical expertise in areas such as hardware, software, and network-related issues, system administration, reporting, system integration, technical documentation, troubleshooting and training. The successful candidate will collaborate across departments and work with the broader IT team to understand business requirements and to provide technical support for selected technology solutions. This role is the first and second point of contact for IT support within the organization and plays a critical role in ensuring smooth IT operations and excellent customer service.

What You'll Need

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a helpdesk or IT support role preferably most recently in a Level 2 or higher role.

  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.

  • Knowledge of Android and iOS operating systems for mobile devices.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and common business applications.

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with ITIL-based service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk or Manage Engine).

  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, inTune, Autopilot and Exchange administration.

  • Familiarity with remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer, AnyDesk, RDP).

  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM) solutions.

  • Exposure to cybersecurity best practices.

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar.

  • An enthusiasm and thirst for learning.
