A busy secondary school in Bicester is looking for an enthusiastic and technically capable IT Technician to join its support team. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day technical assistance to staff and pupils and help ensure that the school’s IT systems and classroom technology remain operational.
This position would suit an individual with previous IT support experience who enjoys troubleshooting problems and working in a busy education environment.
Key Responsibilities:Provide first-line technical support to staff and pupils across the school.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and user issues.
Set up and configure laptops, desktop computers, tablets, and other devices.
Support interactive displays, projectors, printers, and classroom technology.
Assist staff with password, account, and access-related issues.
Install approved software and carry out routine updates.
Maintain accurate records of IT equipment and technical issues.
Log support requests and ensure problems are followed through to resolution.
Assist with basic network and connectivity troubleshooting.
Escalate complex technical problems to senior IT staff or external providers where appropriate.
Previous IT support, helpdesk, or technician experience.
Good knowledge of computer hardware and software.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
Ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users.
Organised approach with strong attention to detail.
Experience working within a school or education environment would be advantageous.
