IT Technician

Salary: £28,000 - 30,000 per year

Requirements:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience within IT or EPOS, ideally in technical deployments involving hardware, networking and software.
• Strong experience configuring networks, servers, switches and computer hardware.
• Previous experience working with EPOS systems.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, including Windows 7-11 and Windows Server 2012-2022.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and Teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage own workload and work to deadlines.
• Proactive, self-motivated approach.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
• Desirable: basic knowledge of electronics.
• Desirable: comfortable working with repetitive technical tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Desirable: physically capable of handling the practical demands of a hands-on technical role.
• Desirable: full UK driving licence would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Configure and test a range of IT hardware, including tablets, laptops, kiosks, tills, customer display units, switches, routers and servers.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and networking issues and carry out diagnostics.
• Configure networks, servers, switches and computer hardware.
• Support the build and optimisation of IT solutions.
• Produce accurate and clear technical documentation.
• Manage own workload in line with project schedules and deadlines.
• Carry out quality control checks to ensure equipment meets required standards.
• Work closely with engineering teams during technical deployments.
• Provide remote technical support where required.
• Support the wider technical team, including occasional visits to another UK site.
• Carry out occasional site installations and customer visits to install or configure EPOS equipment.
• Support ad-hoc technical projects and installations as required.

We are recruiting an experienced IT Technician to join our busy technical team in Altrincham on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a hands-on role with a salary of £30,000 and working hours of Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm. You will work across a varied range of IT, networking and EPOS technologies, supporting technical deployments, installations and customer projects while collaborating closely with our engineering teams.
