We are seeking a dedicated, resourceful IT Technician to support our school's technology needs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic educational environment and is passionate about helping staff and students succeed through reliable technology. This is an on-site position supporting our West Springfield and Chicopee locations and is not eligible for remote work.
What You’ll Do
Provide technical support for Windows 11 desktops and laptops.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
Perform hardware repairs and upgrades on desktops and laptops.
Support and maintain Office 365 accounts and applications.
Assist teachers and staff with basic tech troubleshooting
Maintain inventory of IT equipment and supplies.
Collaborate with the IT team and vendors as needed.
Assist with equipment moves, technology setups, and deployments between school locations.
Document support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions as needed.
What You Bring
Demonstrated experience supporting Windows 11 computers in a professional environment.
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Office 365, including common Office applications.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing desktop and laptop hardware.
Experience troubleshooting printers, scanners, and other common peripherals.
Basic understanding of networking concepts, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, IP addresses, and connectivity troubleshooting.
Excellent communication and customer-service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple requests, and work independently.
Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new technologies.
Must have a reliable personal vehicle and the ability to travel between school sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a school or educational setting.
Basic networking knowledge (Wi-Fi, routers, switches).
Intune and Google Workspace knowledge.
Experience with Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID.
Experience working with ticketing/help-desk systems.
Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or equivalent experience.
