Trust Payments has an exciting opportunity for an IT Technician to join their team.

Location: Birkirkara, Malta (hybrid)

How will you make an impact in this role?
The Role:

You will be a valued member of the IT Helpdesk team, providing first-line IT support to Trust Payments staff. The role covers hardware and software installation and configuration, user account management, telephony systems, Audio Visual equipment, meeting room technology, and collaborative work tools.

What We Expect of You, Day To Day:
    • Serve as First Line Support for staff seeking technical assistance for all IT issues raised via the Zendesk ticketing system, over the phone, and in person
    • Diagnose hardware and software faults, document discoveries and interactions within the ticketing system, and escalate issues to 2nd and 3rd line support as needed
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with computer systems, hardware, and peripherals, liaising with third-party suppliers for support of equipment under warranty
    • Undertake user account management tasks, onboarding and offboarding of staff, and maintain records of permissions granted or revoked
    • Install and configure laptops and desktops for deployment to end users
    • Supply and maintenance of desk IT equipment and undertake IT equipment moves in accordance with office reorganisations
    • Maintain an accurate inventory record of hardware and user permissions
    • Server room organisation and maintenance work (server rack mounting, UPS installation, network and power cable runs, etc.)
    • Perform the office IT procurement processes, locating suppliers and obtaining quotes, keeping within budget guidelines
    • Procure, test, and manage company mobile phones
    • Generator and/or air conditioning unit monitoring and testing
    • Create and maintain technical and non-technical instructional articles hosted on the company self-help portal
    • Occasional requirement for off-site IT duties, in support of company events
    • Comply with all legislation and codes of practice appropriate to the role, including the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), relevant directives, and GDPR obligations

Qualifications
  • Essential:
    • Clear and effective communication skills — written, verbal, and in person — with the ability to explain technical concepts to people of all technical backgrounds
    • Experience in an IT support or customer service environment
    • Practical knowledge of laptops, monitors, mobile phones, and general desktop equipment
    • Experience using Microsoft 365 Admin Centre for account management
    • Experience installing and troubleshooting Windows 11 and Microsoft Office applications
    • Familiarity with a ticketing system such as Zendesk
    • Basic server maintenance and support knowledge
    • Experience producing written training materials and delivering guidance to end users
  • Desirable:
    • Experience with Audio Visual equipment
    • Familiarity with the Atlassian suite (Jira and Confluence)
    • Experience supporting AWS access issues
    • Experience supporting POS equipment
    • Entry-level IT qualification (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications)
    • Apple macOS experience
  • Additional requirements
    • Ability to work both collaboratively within a team and autonomously when needed
    • Able to lift and/or move equipment weighing up to 10 kg
    • Valid passport (required for occasional off-site duties)
