Janitor
Position Summary
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and safety throughout the manufacturing facility. This role supports production efficiency by ensuring all work areas, restrooms, and common spaces are clean, organized, and compliant with company standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
General Cleaning & Sanitation
- Clean and sanitize floors, walls, and surfaces in production areas, offices, and common spaces
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors daily
- Dispose of trash, scrap materials, and recyclables properly
- Clean spills promptly, especially oils, chemicals, or coolants
Restroom & Breakroom Maintenance
- Clean and disinfect restrooms (toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors)
- Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
- Maintain cleanliness in breakrooms, including tables, microwaves, and refrigerators
Production Area Support
- Assist in keeping production floors free of debris and hazards
- Support 5S initiatives (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
- Clean around machinery without interfering with operations
- Follow proper procedures when handling industrial waste
Waste Management
- Empty trash bins and transport waste to designated areas
- Separate hazardous and non-hazardous waste as required
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety guidelines
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Report unsafe conditions, leaks, or maintenance issues
- Properly handle cleaning chemicals and equipment
Inventory & Supplies
- Monitor cleaning supply levels and report shortages
- Maintain janitorial equipment in good working condition

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous janitorial or industrial cleaning experience is a plus
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (noise, dust, machinery)
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety practices

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40–50 lbs
