JANITORIAL CONTRACT WORKER - JANITORIAL SERVICES

Location: Newburgh, NY
Hours: Mon, Tues, Thur 8:30am-11:30am
Rate: $18.86/hr

As part of a mobile crew, this position will also cover the Bullville location.

OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

This position will be responsible for the cleaning of a dormitory type building in the West Point area. Quality assurance, maintaining overhead costs, and ensuring high customer service standards are the major tasks associated with this position.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Floor Care (knowledge of scrubbers or auto-buffers a plus)
Cleaning of restrooms
Window cleaning
Removing of trash and recyclables
Vacuuming & Dusting
Possible snow removal

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:

Works as part of a team to ensure the requirements of the contract are fulfilled
Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:

Previous custodial or janitorial experience
Strong organization skills with accurate attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi- task
Good customer service skills
Able to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to function as part of a cohesive team
Reliable Transportation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Previous cleaning experience required

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Capable of walking between buildings to get to other locations
Must be capable of standing for several hours
Must be able to moving arms back and forth in a “mopping” motion
Must be able to lift >20 lbs
Must be able to push a shovel
Must be able to climb stairs
Work alongside co-workers within 3 feet
Must be able to reach overhead to get at higher locations
