Java Backend Developer - Spring Boot & AWS (EC2, Lambda)

Job description:

We are looking for a skilled Java & AWS Cloud Engineer with hands-on production development experience to design, build, and maintain scalable backend applications. In this role, you will own the full application lifecyclefrom writing clean Java/J2EE code and Spring Boot microservices to deploying and managing serverless and cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, Lambda)

Key Responsibilities:

• Application Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain robust backend applications using Java and J2EE.
• Microservices & APIs: Build and deploy high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot.
• AWS Cloud Management: Provision, configure, and manage cloud resources, including Amazon EC2 instances and AWS Lambda serverless functions.
• End-to-End Ownership: Take full ownership of applications from architecture design and local coding through production deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Performance & Optimization: Troubleshoot production issues, optimize code and database queries, and ensure high availability, security, and scalability.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams to deliver reliable software solutions

Required Qualifications & Must-Have Skills:

• Core Technologies: Strong proficiency in Java and J2EE.
• Frameworks: Extensive experience building enterprise-grade applications with Spring Boot.
• AWS Cloud Services: Proven, hands-on experience working with AWS EC2 and AWS Lambda.
• Cloud Ownership: Demonstrated ability to drive end-to-end AWS ownership (deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cloud-native components).
• Production Experience: Real-world, hands-on production development experience deploying and supporting live applications.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex system or performance bottlenecks.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline).
• Knowledge of relational/NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)
