Java Backend Developer
Summary
Designs and builds Java-based microservices and reactive applications using Spring and Spring Boot, deploys them with Docker and Kubernetes, and maintains CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
Build high-performance reactive applications using Spring WebFlux.
Develop and consume RESTful APIs following best practices.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
Deploy and support applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
Design and optimize data models across SQL and NoSQL databases.
Troubleshoot performance, scalability, and production issues.
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and Agile ceremonies.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience in Java 8/11/17
Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux
Microservices architecture and REST API development
CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
Containerization using Docker
Container orchestration using Kubernetes
Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.)
Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)
Git version control and Agile development practices
Good to Have
Kafka or RabbitMQ
Redis caching
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
JUnit/Mockito-based testing
Observability and monitoring tools
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
4–6 years of software development experience with a strong backend development focus.
Preferred Domain Experience: Banking, Financial Services, Payments, FinTech, or other large-scale enterprise environments.
