Java Backend Engineer

We are seeking a Java Backend Engineer to design, develop, and continuously enhance intelligent digital products and services that support employees and HR stakeholders, with Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the core. The successful candidate will contribute to scalable backend solutions while ensuring quality, security, observability, and reliability across the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and continuously improve intelligent backend applications supporting HR and employee-focused digital services.
• Develop scalable backend solutions using modern engineering practices and agile methodologies.
• Analyze business and user requirements to build new features and enhancements.
• Implement automated testing, deployment pipelines, and observability practices.
• Ensure applications meet functional and non-functional requirements, including quality, security, reliability, and compliance.
• Build monitoring and observability into applications to maintain production health.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive improvements.
• Advocate for user-centric, explainable, ethical, and responsible AI-driven solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers.
• Share technical knowledge, support hiring and onboarding initiatives, and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Spring Batch and Spring Cloud.
• Proven expertise in designing and developing Microservices.
• Strong knowledge of REST API development.
• Experience with Azure Cloud Services, including:
• Knowledge of Azure Cosmos DB or other NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Confluent Kafka or similar data streaming platforms.

Security

• Experience implementing authentication and authorization using:
• OAuth 2.0

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong collaboration skills in Agile environments.
• Commitment to clean code, documentation, maintainability, and continuous improvement.
• Passion for learning new technologies and engineering best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AI technologies such as:
• Spring AI
• LangChain
