Project description

We are looking for experienced Senior Java Backend Engineers to join a long‑term cloud transformation initiative. The assignment focuses on building and migrating backend services into a modern, internal cloud platform, with strong emphasis on scalability, reliability, and event‑driven architectures. The work involves developing new data flows, modernizing integrations, and supporting business‑critical services with high availability and security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Build and adapt integrations using Kafka and REST‑based communication Work with message‑driven and event‑based architectures Implement automated unit and integration tests Ensure high code quality through peer reviews and CI pipelines Collaborate closely with architects, product owners, and cross‑functional teams Participate in sprint planning, demos, and technical reviews

SKILLS

Must have

  • Strong hands‑on experience in Java and Spring application development Minimum 6 years of professional backend development experience Experience working in Linux environments Solid experience with Kafka or similar messaging platforms Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines Experience writing automated unit and integration tests Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent professional experience Fluent English, written and spoken Ability and willingness to work on‑site in Gothenburg

Nice to have

Experience in large‑scale or distributed systems Background in event‑driven or real‑time systems Familiarity with tools such as Jira, ArgoCD, Grafana, Splunk Experience with Protobuf, gRPC, or similar technologies Experience working in international or cross‑functional environments
