Job Description
Are you a passionate Backend Engineer who enjoys building scalable services, solving complex data challenges, and working in a fast-paced agile environment? We’re looking for a talented engineer to join our team and help design, build, and operate critical backend services that integrate and synchronize data across enterprise platforms.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to design, build, and operate backend services for data integration and replication
- Develop and maintain robust ETL workflows and APIs to synchronize data between Atlassian platforms and HSBC systems
- Design and deliver new features with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance
- Work directly with internal customers to troubleshoot issues, support operations, and address feature requests
- Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases, ensuring strong data integrity and efficiency
- Contribute to an Agile, CI/CD-driven environment with frequent, high-quality releases
- Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and team knowledge sharing
- Continuously learn, grow, and contribute to engineering excellence
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in Java, especially with the Spring Framework
- Strong experience in at least 2–3 of the following areas:
- React
- Solid troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in Agile teams, including tools like Jira and Confluence
- Good understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful service design
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Knowledge of Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
- Background in Systems Administration across Linux / AIX / WAS platforms
