Java Developer (1 year contract - Renewable)

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills in Java and Spring Boot, hands-on experience with databases, and a solid understanding of microservices architecture and API development.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Java EE
Develop and implement scalable applications based on microservices architecture
Design, develop, and integrate RESTful APIs, web services, and JSON-based data exchanges
Work with MongoDB, Oracle Database, and Microsoft SQL Server to manage and optimise data storage and retrieval
Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into effective software solutions
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues to ensure system stability and performance
Participate in code reviews, software testing, and continuous improvement of development practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, testers, and other developers, to deliver quality software solutions
Prepare and maintain technical documentation in accordance with project standards
Manage assigned tasks, prioritise workloads, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones
About you
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Java application development
Strong hands-on programming experience in Java and Spring Boot (mandatory)
Good knowledge of Spring Framework and Java EE
Proven experience designing and implementing microservices architecture
Hands-on experience with MongoDB, Oracle Database, and Microsoft SQL Server
Good understanding of JSON, RESTful APIs, and web services
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and time management skills
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
