Java Developer AI Claude - FinTech

In this role you will help modernise a sophisticated C++ trading system into a scalable, high-performance Java application. You’ll work closely with Front Office traders, product specialists and experienced engineers to design real-time trading technology with tangible business impact. You will have ownership over architectural decisions and contribute to shaping the future platform, while leveraging AI-assisted tools like Claude to boost productivity. This is a hands-on, growth-focused role in a scaling FinTech with a collaborative culture.

• backend Java development for real-time trading systems
• modernise C++ trading system into scalable Java applications
• design and build robust, secure, high-performance trading technology

• strong backend, multithreaded Java development experience
• strong knowledge of financial markets and experience with trading systems
• good understanding of real-time system development and latency
• comfortable using AI tools such as Claude
• collaborative and pragmatic with client-facing communication skills
• curious with advanced critical thinking and problem-solving
• understanding of C++ beneficial but not essential
• minimum 2.1 BSc in Computer Science or similar from a top-tier/Russell Group university
