Java Developer – Algo Trading

Overview
In this role you will join a London-based trading firm’s low-latency team to design and implement Java-based trading algorithms. You’ll help build a greenfield, low-latency trading platform and connect to financial exchanges, supporting cross-asset trading across FX, equities and commodities. You’ll collaborate with traders and the quant team to translate requirements into robust solutions and improve existing strategies. The environment is fast, collaborative and non-bureaucratic, with exposure to high-frequency trading.
Responsibilities- Design and develop new trading algorithms in Java
- Build and maintain a greenfield low-latency trading platform
- Work on connectivity to financial exchanges
- Improve and maintain existing trading strategies
- Develop utility applications and Excel tools for trading activities
- Collaborate with traders to gather requirements and resolve issues
- Commercial Java development experience (core Java)
- SQL
- Strong understanding of general programming concepts
- Degree in Computer Science or Machine Learning (BSc/Masters/PhD) from a top 40 university
- Interest in crypto market making is a plus
- Collaborative mindset
