Java Developer | AWS Microservices I SC Cleared

£280-£500 per day (Inside IR35/Umbrella)

Contract: 14 months
Locations: London, Manchester, Newcastle or Glasgow (2-3 days on site p/w)
Security Clearance: Existing SC or CTC preferred. SC eligibility required.
We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join a high-profile cloud transformation programme, working within a Scrum team responsible for developing and supporting services across a large-scale AWS-hosted microservices architecture.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, enterprise-level systems, contributing across the full software development lifecycle while collaborating with highly skilled engineers in a modern cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java-based microservices
• Write clean, scalable and well-tested code
• Perform unit testing and support integration testing activities
• Conduct and approve peer code reviews (PR reviews)
• Manage code promotion through multiple environments into production
• Support CI/CD best practices and release processes
• Mentor and develop junior team members
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects and Scrum team members

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience with Java 8+
• Experience building cloud-based Microservices
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Spring Boot
  • Maven
  • Guice
  • JUnit
  • PostgreSQL
• Experience using Git-based source control tools such as Bitbucket/Git
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience

• AWS cloud services
• Kubernetes
• Helm
• Jenkins
• CI/CD pipelines and build automation
• Experience supporting applications through to production environments
