Java Developer – eDV Clearance
Summary
12-month contract Java developer role building and securing backend services, REST APIs and microservices for UK defence and national-security programmes in a restricted environment, onsite in Doddinghurst, Brentwood. Stack: Java, Spring/Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS/Azure; active eDV clearance required. Pays £600–£650/day.
Salary: £25,000 - 50,000 per year
Requirements:- Active Enhanced Developed Vetting (eDV) security clearance
- Strong experience in Java development
- Prior experience working in secure, government or national security environments
- Experience with microservices
- Solid knowledge of RESTful APIs and backend services
- Experience working within Agile development teams
- Familiarity with Spring or Spring Boot is desirable
- Knowledge of Docker or Kubernetes is desirable
- Experience with CI/CD processes is desirable
- Familiarity with AWS or Azure is desirable
- Develop and enhance Java-based backend services
- Design and implement secure, scalable applications
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs
- Work with microservices architectures
- Collaborate with engineers, architects and relevant stakeholders
- Work within an Agile development environment
- Contribute to technology supporting UK national security operations
