The Role:

A well-backed investment fund is looking for a Java Developer to help shape and develop a business-critical trading platform used across global trading activity. This role sits close to the trading function and offers genuine ownership of core trading system components. You'll be involved in enhancing trading capability, improving trading workflows, integrating external counterparties, and driving the ongoing evolution of the platform. What You Will Be Doing:

  • Develop and enhance a mission-critical trading platform.
  • Work closely with trading, quantitative and operations teams to improve execution outcomes.
  • Integrate and onboard external brokers, venues and trading counterparties.
  • Build and maintain reporting and analytics tools focused on execution quality.
  • Drive platform improvements around performance, scalability and reliability.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and the wider technology roadmap.
  • Participate in production support and take ownership of key platform components.

What You Bring:

  • Strong commercial Java development skills.
  • Experience building or supporting electronic trading or working on trade lifecycle, trade capture or Risk systems.
  • Good understanding of market connectivity, order flow and trade lifecycle processes.
  • Exposure to buy-side, sell-side or proprietary trading environments.
  • Ability to work directly with business users and technical stakeholders.
  • A hands-on engineering approach with a focus on delivery, ownership and continuous improvement.

The Package:

£120,000 - £180,000 base salary depending on experience, plus discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package. This is a London-based role with close interaction across technology and trading teams. The firm offers a high-impact environment where engineers have meaningful influence over platform direction and business outcomes.
